RECIPE is a Community Project started by two people in long term recovery to help, support and empower people to achieve and sustain their own recovery goals.

We see ourselves as a small part of the wider “Recovery Community” and as such, would look to develop strong working relationships, built on honesty, trust, integrity and equality, with everyone involved in the recovery movement.

Drawing upon several years of experience developing and delivering a successful Peer Support Service and being active contributing members of Middlesbrough’s recovery community we would like to use this experience to continue to offer support to vulnerable people with Addiction/Substance misuse issues and to provide food for the homeless and poorly housed.

“In the Community,

By the Community,

For the Community.

We believe that people can and do recover with the help and support of Family, Peers, Mutual Aid/Fellowships, Friends, Carers, Services, Positive role models and many others. In short it takes a community effort. As the saying goes “Recovery is something you must do for yourself but not by yourself”.
